From Santal Black Currant , Apple Jack and Cinnaspice to our delicious Baked Pumpkin scented wafer, fill your home or office with the fragrant allure of autumn!

As September approaches each year, the last breath of summer heat soon transforms the land into a rainbow of early autumn colors.

The leaves on the trees gently die in a glorious profusion of crimson and gold, and a soft chill lingers in the air. Soon, the promise of less sunlight, shorter days and cooler nights will inevitably arrive along with harvests and another related activities.

As is the case with all seasons, autumn is characterized by its own intriguing and one-of-a-kind flavors and scents. These include: a cozy, crackling fire, the essence of the woods and Mother Nature’s rich, earthy tapestry of trees, shrubs, grasses and mosses.

Some of the most popular food and perfume scents formulated by our master perfumers often include: pumpkin spice, cinnamon, apple pie, pecan pie and apple cider, just to name a few.

Some might describe the scents of early autumn as melancholy. They do represent a death of sorts, but that is also mingled with a preparation for rebirth the following spring.

Others claim these fragrances are pleasing. Either way, the aromas of autumn all derive from the world of science. Leaves serve as Mother Nature’s way of providing nutrients via photosynthesis to the tree in the form of glucose.

An enormous amount of energy is required to create this nourishment, and when the tree can no longer receive it, the leaves die. In their last moments, leaves release gasses via stomata (tiny holes).

These include: terpene, pinene and other substances that coat the surfaces of the tree.

Fall fragrances mark a magical transition that briefly suspends the inevitable onset of colder weather.

Understanding The Characteristics of Fall Scents

The warm, sweet days of summer are hard to relinquish for those who cherish the season and wish it to linger just a little bit longer.

Indian summer often makes this possible for a little while, but it is inevitable that early autumn marks the time to shed those shorts and sandals and opt for slightly heavier apparel.

Richer and deeper scents, such as those found in the Chypre family, blended with clean, refreshing bergamot, animal notes, intense jasmine, dreamy, musky red rose, dark, earthy patchouli, wet tree moss and warm, fruity labdanum are very suitable for this time of year.

Autumn fragrances exude warmth and comfort with their earthy, woody and natural notes such as: warm, honeyed amber; spicy cinnamon; hot, fruity clove; lush, noble vanilla; dusty violet and dreamy, musky red rose.

Woody facets are grounding, rich and long lasting, and they symbolize the majestic forest with its multitude of mingled scents of animal life, trees, potent patchouli; aromatic, amber-nuanced oak moss and green, slightly sharp vetiver.

Also included are the fruits and vegetables of the season, which include:crisp apples; creamy, sugary pumpkin; sweet berries and fresh, green figs.

The Similarities Between Fall Scents And Masculine Colognes

Autumn colognes designed specifically for men evoke timeless, comforting aromas fused by facets of smoky wood, spice, pungent, sensuous leather, sweet florals and warm, dark and honeyed amber.

Their compositions provide a seamless transition and stability between the soft, floral and watery tones of summer and the sharp, earthy and warming aspects of winter.

There are four categories of masculine colognes that capture the rich and vivid nature of the season. They are: warm, woody, ambery and fresh.

The most prominent notes incorporated into men’s colognes evoke aromas of clean, freshly cut grass, aromatic tea leaves and balsamic, green and slightly sharp vetiver.

Some other facets include: floral, citrusy and light bergamot, sensual, white musk and dark, intense patchouli.

Peachy plum, crisp apple, slightly sweet and dense pear, woody berry and even green, fruity and waxy tomato are often incorporated into these colognes.
